Certifications &
Compliance Declarations
We hold FSC® Chain of Custody certification for our pine shutter range and actively monitor international compliance requirements relevant to our target markets. This page sets out what we can confirm, what we are working toward, and how to verify it.
FSC® Chain of Custody
Certification
Goodwood Shutters holds FSC® Chain of Custody (CoC) certification for our pine plantation shutter range. This certification verifies that the pine timber used in these products can be traced back through the supply chain to responsibly managed forests meeting FSC® standards.

What FSC® CoC Means for Your Orders
- You can make FSC® claims on your own products and marketing materials for qualifying shutter orders.
- Chain-of-custody documentation is available to support your own certification audits or retail compliance requirements.
- Particularly relevant for markets with timber import due-diligence requirements (EU Timber Regulation, US Lacey Act, UK Timber Regulation).
- FSC® certification applies to pine shutters only; our basswood, paulownia and PVC ranges are produced under responsible sourcing practices but do not carry FSC® claims.
Our broader approach to responsible timber sourcing, material selection and environmental impact is covered on our Sustainability page.

International Compliance
Statements
Beyond FSC®, we understand that buyers importing into the US, EU, UK, Australia and New Zealand operate within a range of product safety, chemical, and social compliance frameworks. The following statements reflect our current awareness and approach -- not claims of certification unless explicitly stated.
Please read carefully: The statements below describe our awareness of and approach to relevant compliance frameworks. They are not claims of certification, audit completion, or regulatory approval unless explicitly stated. If your market or customer requires specific certification documentation, please raise this with our team before placing an order so we can confirm what is available.
REACH (EU Chemical Regulation)
Awareness -- Not CertifiedWe understand the requirements of EU REACH (Regulation EC 1907/2006) regarding substances of very high concern (SVHCs) in articles. We work with our paint, coating and hardware suppliers to select materials that minimise restricted substance content. We do not hold a formal REACH compliance declaration at this time, but we are able to discuss substance enquiries with buyers importing into the EU or UK. Please contact our team to confirm what documentation is available for your specific order.
ASTM / EN Product Safety Standards
Awareness -- Not Third-Party TestedWe are aware of relevant product safety standards including ASTM F2057 (furniture tip-over) and EN 13120 (internal blinds performance) and design our products with these frameworks in mind. Our cordless blind options are designed to address child safety cord requirements in the US, Canada, UK and Australia. We do not currently hold third-party ASTM or EN test reports as standing documentation, but third-party testing can be arranged for qualifying orders. Please discuss requirements at the enquiry stage.
ISO 9001 Quality Management
Awareness -- Confirm Before OrderingWe understand and value the principles of ISO 9001 quality management systems and operate internal quality control processes -- IQC incoming inspection, IPQC in-process checks, and FQC full finished-goods inspection -- that are consistent with ISO 9001 intent. Whether we currently hold formal ISO 9001 certification should be confirmed directly with our team before you rely on it for procurement documentation.
BSCI / Social Compliance
Awareness -- Confirm Before OrderingWe understand the BSCI (Business Social Compliance Initiative) framework and the importance of ethical labour practices in global supply chains. We operate a factory environment that we believe is consistent with responsible labour standards. Whether a formal BSCI audit has been completed and is current should be confirmed with our team before you rely on it for supplier qualification purposes.
Timber Import Due Diligence -- US Lacey Act, EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR), UK Timber Regulation
FSC® Pine: Supported -- Other Species: Discuss With TeamBuyers importing wood products into the US, EU, and UK are subject to timber due-diligence legislation designed to prevent illegally harvested timber entering these markets. For our FSC® Pine shutter range, the FSC® Chain of Custody certification provides strong supporting documentation for due-diligence purposes. For our basswood, paulownia and ash ranges, we maintain timber species and country-of-origin records and can provide supplier declarations -- however, we recommend discussing your specific due-diligence requirements with our team at the enquiry stage so we can confirm what documentation is available and whether it meets your importer obligations.
How to Confirm Compliance Requirements
Compliance requirements vary by product category, destination market, and your customer's own supplier standards. Rather than making blanket claims, we prefer to discuss your specific requirements directly so we can give you an accurate picture of what documentation we can provide.
- Contact us with your destination market, product category, and any specific compliance frameworks your buyers require.
- Our team will confirm which documentation is currently available and what can be arranged for your order.
- For requirements that need third-party testing or auditing, we can discuss timelines and cost-sharing arrangements.

Frequently Asked Compliance Questions
Can I make FSC® claims on products I import from you?
Yes, for orders of our FSC® Pine shutter range, we can provide the FSC® claim on your invoice and packing documentation, enabling you to make FSC® claims on qualifying products. You will need to hold your own FSC® CoC certification to pass the claim through to end customers or retail.
Do you offer third-party testing for specific markets?
Third-party testing through accredited labs can be arranged for qualifying orders. Testing scope, timelines and cost depend on the specific standards required. We recommend raising this at the enquiry stage so it can be factored into your order timeline.
What documentation do you provide with shipments?
Standard shipment documentation includes commercial invoice, packing list, bill of lading, and country-of-origin certificate. FSC® claims are included on documentation for qualifying pine orders. Additional documentation (test reports, material declarations, MSDS) can be provided where available -- confirm at enquiry stage.
How do I verify your FSC® certification is current?
Contact us to obtain our FSC® certificate number. You can then search it directly at info.fsc.org to confirm the certificate holder name, scope, and validity dates independently of any documentation we provide.
